January 23rd, 2012 | by Mary Tillyard |

Win Your Seat in the Epic Poker Leagues $20,000 Shot-Clock Main Event Open to the Public The Pro/Am kicks off Friday, January 27th (Day 1a) or Saturday, January 28th (Day 1b) where players compete for one of nine coveted Wild Card Seats into the Main Event PLUS cash. The Pro/Am is the only way for players who do not have an Epic Poker League Card to secure a seat in the Main Event with a chance to play on Velocity and CBS. Tournament Director Matt Savage has created a structure which provides plenty of play over the three-day event. Among the League members expressing interest in playing this Pro/Am are Erik Seidel, Greg Raymer, Frank Kassella, Antonio Esfandiari, Ben Lamb, Andy Bloch, Chad Brown, Phil Laak, Mike Matusow, Michael Mizrachi, Men Nguyen, John Racener, Mike Sexton, David Singer, Gavin Smith, and many more. The first $180,000 from the prize pool will be paid in Shot-Clock Main Event seats for the top nine players in the Pro/Am. Any prize money above $180,000 will be distributed in a normal payout schedule as in any other cash tournament. For League members, its a chance to win entry into the $20,000 Main Event for a fraction of the price. (League members are required to play at least one Pro/Am, so expect to see some familiar faces.) For pros that didnt qualify for Season One, this is their only way into the Event. For amateurs, its not only their one chance at a seat in the Epic Poker League Main Event but a unique opportunity to play with the best players for the glory and a chance at a multi-million dollar prize pool in the Main Event.
