Erik Seidel Beats Erick Lindegren in WPT Super High Roller

Here’s a piece of poker advice that won’t steer you wrong – if you sit down at a table and you Erik Seidel there, find a new table.

Seidel’s epic heater is continuing at the WPT $100,000 Super High Roller event as he will be going heads-up with a chip lead against Erick Lindgren. With first place paying $1,092,780 and second paying  $700,500 Seidel had no choice but to continue to make a sick amount of money this year, which has already amounted to almost $4 million from eight cashes in major live tournaments.

Day 2 of the the World Poker Tour’s biggest buy-in ($100,000) saw a field of 29 reduced to 17, who vied for the Super High Roller piece of the $2.802 million-dollar pie (not bad for a field of less than 30).

Day 2’s first elimination was courtesy of poker pro Daniel Negreanu, who sent home Eugene Katchalov, who took 17th place. The final table was made with the eliminations of WPT World champ Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Dan Shak, who was knocked out in 11th place at the hands of Seidel.

The final table had 10 players including some of the biggest names in poker like Negreanu, Justin Bonomo, Sam Trickett, Vivek Rajkumar and Rick Salomon, who was eliminated and took 10th place, thanks to Bonomo.  Bonomo himself was eliminated in 5th place at the hands of Lindgren, whose K-Q held up against Bonomo’s Q-9.

Last night saw the players trading bluffs well into the night before the eventual elimination of Negreanu in third place for $448,320.

But, it was Seidel who was able to continue his reign of poker tournament terror, putting his $1,092,000 victory at the Bellagio to a $5.4 million in 2011 cashes. And if you’re interested in taking a crack at some big poker tournament prize pools yourself, be sure to check out Sports Interaction’s online poker room.
