Nigella Lawson vows not to lose weight
April 30th, 2011 | by Jessica Teakle |TV chef Nigella Lawson prefers her lush curves and is convinced that weight loss would age her by ten years. Her bestselling cookbooks and TV shows have made her a domestic goddess and now she is rumoured to have been paid more than £150,000 by Australia’s Channel Ten to appear in the new series of MasterChef. While in Australia last week she made front-page news when she hit the surf at Bondi Beach in an unflattering ‘burkini’.
Needless to say the news reports have not been very flattering but it also can’t be denied that Miss Lawson loves her own cooking too much and doesn’t believe in depriving herself. In fact, the 51-year-old believes that all those extra pounds on her body are the secret to her sex appeal. While most women go through almost anything to obtain trim and sexy figures, there are also women like Oprah Winfrey and Kirstie Alley who struggle constantly with weight-loss. And then there are a few women like Nigella Lawson who consider the fight to be futile.
It’s a personal choice which must be respected and in her case apparently influenced by her mother’s eating disorders which made her vow not to struggle with weighty problems. As long as Miss Lawson is comfortable with her own body and she keeps tempting the world with her mouth-watering and easy on the eyes recipes and kitchen wisdom her fans will continue to love her.
